I have seen lots of Antique Roadshow "experts" give hysterically bad values
over the years, because they have no clue as to the real value, and that's
just on items I know about (I shudder to think how they do on items I have
no clue about).

Put that together with the several times "experts" have been caught
"scamming" on the show (given something a skyhigh "value" so they can sell
it to a chump later for "way under the Roadshow price), and you have a show
that may have entertainment value, but little educational value.
