the blank area at the top of a window card or belgian poster is part of the poster and therefore it's removal in either case is certainly a defect

however, it still remains a collectible item as the art is otherwise intact and it is not nearly the same as a lobby card that has been trimmed which in most cases make the lobby card worthless in comparison to a lobby without trimming

in the case of the trimmed window card, it is acceptable to most collectors looking for an item they may not find easily to buy one missing the top blank section. If the window card has been trimmed of it's right, left & bottom borders, that is where most collectors draw the line to it being wholly defective

would you agree that a window card (the ones that the theatre owner would hand-write information on the top portion) are defective if they were cut?

at one time, people would frame these after cutting the blank area or blank area that had hand-written words and display the image only.

Is there a similar consensus about Belgian posters that have had the blank (written or stamped) area above the image removed?

Are these trimmed Belgian posters also considered "defective" or "damaged"? I would guess the same argument would apply as the WC discussion, since both are designed in a very similar fashion?

If not, I'd be curious to points of view.

Thanks.
