This is not the first time Ed has advertised such a hoax. I bought a poster from him (for the last time) a while back and in the fine print it said it was a photo. It had a very long description and was easy to miss especially when you search posters in a hurry in the morning. I was very annoyed because I know him personally and I just let it go because the money was not a lot. However, it is time Ed changed his ways and advertises a copy made on a copying machine. i agree with you jim.. this type of representation does border on fraud, as an 8x10 XEROX copy of a black and white publicity photo is not a poster, whatsoever. the main thumbnail image of the lobby card should be removed and the clay figure put in it's place. jeff On Jul 19, 2009, at 11:19 AM, James Richard wrote: Ed, The Saucer Man armature puppet is very nice in and of itself -- but why are you are presenting the auction in such a misleading way? You did straight-forward approach with the auction for the War of the Worlds armature puppet, so why not do the same with the Saucer Man? As it now stands, I find the lead thumbnail picture and headline description for the Saucer Man auction to be perilously close to fraud. On the auction listing and the top of description page it looks and reads like you are offering an original Title Card lobby card 'poster' with this armature puppet. You are using a thumbnail picture of the Title Card to headline the auction. But what you are really offering is an 8x10 production still from the movie. So why does it say "poster" in your headline and "Lobby Card" in the description? What you are offering is a photo -- NOT a "lobby card" or a "poster"in any sense of those words. And what you are offering is certainly not the imagery of the Title Card picture that you use to headline the listing with. And I'm certain you know all of this. Technically, both the use of the image of the Title Card in this way and the use of the words "poster" and "Lobby Card" when it is really a photo are a violation of EBay listing guidelines. -- JR edsheasokoloff wrote: _Invasion of the Saucer-men AIP Monster Puppet + Poster_ (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280369579135&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1123) Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at _www.filmfan.com_ (http://www.filmfan.com/) ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: _lists...@listserv.american.edu_ (mailto:lists...@listserv.american.edu) In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
