Hello! ?I just started collecting Universal horror posters. ?I've been
collecting 60s/70s exploitation paper and Mexican/South American horror posters
for a few years, and I still like those, but now I want to shift into Universal
posters. ?I can't afford original 30s/40s paper, so I'm focusing on Realart
posters. ?I think those better suit my tastes, anyway, as they have more of a
exploitation/spook show vibe.?

In recent months, I bought a Realart Dracula's Daughter one-sheet and Realart
Black Cat (Vanishing Body) one-sheet from Heritage. ?I also bought a French
grande Curse of the Werewolf from Heritage. Not Universal, I know, but a
Hammer/Univ.Int. coproduction. ?All three are linen backed.

I was pretty pleased with my embryonic UniMonster poster collection until this
fake stuff came up. ?Now I'm pretty well spooked. ?On the one hand, I'm reading
that Heritage didn't sell any of the fakes. ?On the other hand, I'm reading
that there was indeed some kind of transaction involving Heritage. ?Since even
the pros were fooled by those fakes, how is a newbie like me supposed to spot
them?

I also collect monster toys and masks. ?That is actually my main hobby. ?I
discovered this e-mail list through the Universal Monster Army discussion
group. ?Someone from this list posted at the UMA and invited us to check it
out. ?Pretty nice discussion forum you have here. ?I wish there was a way I
could just read the posts at the website but still participate in the
discussion. ?Seems that, in order to be able to submit posts, you have to get
it all via e-mail.
