The sign on the front of our shop has an extra (I) in nostalgia took us 5
years for someone to notice it we still haven't bothered to change it

I am sure typos happens frequently.. in this example, it is evident because
the seller snapped a close up photo of this area but it is not mentioned in
the description, at all. here, someone with a brush in hand, simply wasnt
paying attention. The lettering style itself is also very poor--the work is
unsteady, uneven and rather sloppy. Perhaps the owner or collector
him(her)self added it on their own, which could account for the poor
"penmanship."

It is not that uncommon for typos on hand-lettered parts of posters, or
indeed on posters themselves.

 

I have the Australian one sheet for THE WOMEN (1939) which proudly proclaims
that it was directed by George Zucor.)

and someone on NSF showed a daybill a while back that the world MILLION was
spelled in the huge title treatment as MILLLION.
