I was looking at PIH's online catalog... they seem to also auction a
lot of autographed photos.. and havent forged signatures been around
for years (whether it be photos, baseballs, basketballs, etc)?

On the other hand, I've always looked at vintage stills and photos
as a major potential area for fraud. And as I look at these same
items popping up in numerous auctions, it makes me wonder.
