Just happens to to be worth damn more to me than the alternative lists, which was the motivation for my initial response. Less especially this one, but very especially the other. Gee, I won't name "the other", now you really have no clue which one I'm talking about right? How many lists are there out there exactly? Exactly, pretty obvious which was the list in question, and rather it's rather disingenuous anyone now saying they won't name it. For all intents and purposes Bill had identified it, and besides I'd already named it, NSFGE. Despite the drawbacks, (I'm no fan of anonymous trash), open discussion providing the best resource of information. Bill, your integrity isn't of any particular concern to me, just felt you were being unnecessarily overly dramatic at the expense of that unnamed forum. Jon Warren had a fantastic movie poster discussion group which was essentially ended because anonymous posters who could hide behind user IDs which meant nothing could castigate, disrupt, libel and otherwise undermine the whole purpose and general good feeling of the list. Jon was disgusted by the whole thing and the time it took to monitor the list. I know what it's like to be dissed on one of these lists because a couple of guys took in after me for no reason that I could discern. In fact, it was personal. People behaved in a way that they would not have behaved if they had been acting in their own name. No list like this is worth a tinker's damn that doesn't make people register as who they are. Somebody going on and registering with a name that mimes Bill's or confuses other members so that they might think it is Bill posting stuff that he is not -- that's just puerile. Should not be acceptable on any forum. Kirby McDaniel www.movieart.net On Oct 31, 2009, at 11:30 AM, Richard Evans wrote: "This isn't exactly earth shattering news or anything." Agreed. "Truth be told, I have way too much on my plate right now for this to really be an issue for me personally." That probably goes for the rest of us, so the point of posting this on MOPO is what? Other that is, than providing ammunition for the vapid "competition". On 31 Oct 2009, at 15:41, bill scutta wrote: Hello MOPOers, This isn't exactly earth shattering news or anything. But I recently joined a forum for movie poster enthusiasts. No sooner had I joined the forum in question than someone else registered an account using my name "Bill Scutta" as their handle. I seriously doubt there is anyone else in the poster community with my name. Truth be told, I have way too much on my plate right now for this to really be an issue to me personally. But I just wanted to state for the record that I have never used my name "Bill Scutta" as my screen name on any forum, ever. I have contacted the moderator, due to the fact that on many forums this is an egregious breach of etiquette and my guess would be that the moderator would not want this type of element on their forum. I am waiting to hear back, but whatever the outcome, it's really no skin off my apple. Some of you on MOPO know me, but for the people that don't, I just wanted to give them a heads up.
