I was actually trying to make a funny as the NY Times and Slate On Line both really came down this year on the origins and true horror that is green bean casserole. Evidently it was totally created and pushed by Campbell's in the mid 1950's and has become one of Turkey Days standard side dishes. Campbell's canned grean beans and Campbell's cream of mushroom soup with Campbell's fried onion on top. Evidently most people who reside in Red States think the Pilgrims brought it over.............
