the supposed winning bidder has only bid on 2 posters in the past 30
days -- this and one other. The guy he outbid (whose maximum was $579)
only bid on 1 poster in the past 30 days -- this one. There are some
people who set up "shill bidder" accounts 5 or even 10 years ago on eBay
and have been building up the feedback of those shill bidding accounts
so they look "real". And they don't necessarily have an exclusive
connection with a particular seller. There are some sell shill bidder
services clandestinely. They will bid on your items up to the amount you
tell them to, with the agreement that if they happen to win, they don't
pay for the item but you tell eBay they have and you leave each other
positive feedback. "
I don't think that's at play here the seller would have to pay a pretty
hefty Ebay sales commission on a $600 sale and I doubt he'd want to
incur that expense.
