Holiday,

I don't think I ever discounted those folks who choose to collect modern
posters. There's enough room in this hobby for everybody. Another
collector could get just as excited about a certain 90's Japanese poster as I
might
get excited about an original Public Enemy one sheet. I was reacting more
to the tone of your initial email and your choice of words describing your
collection as being "the best in the world" than anything else. Hey, I'm
sure you have a great collection of posters. But I discovered long ago that
it's all relative--as are so many things in life. No matter how great you
think your collection is, someone else out there has a better one---and
likewise someone else has a better one than them. The most important thing I
think isn't how great our collections are, but how much we enjoy the process
of collecting...whether it's 90's Japanese movie posters or Fatty Arbuckle
posters from the 20's. That enjoyment is what got us into the hobby in the
first place,,,,way back when we bought our first poster. Not giving a damn
about having the "best" collection someday. All we cared about was that
one poster that we were going to frame and put up on our wall. Whether it
was a modern poster or a 80 year old poster, the experience...the
enjoyment..was the same..
                                                             Rick
