Hello Dave I have sold the one sheet a number of times and it seems the NSS number was misprinted on them all. The Heritage archive shows the one sheet seven times and all marked as you mention. http://movieposters.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7014&Lot_No=89840 http://movieposters.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7008&Lot_No=85311
As you can see by the insert, it was just a misprint as it is marked correctly as seen by having the same three digit NSS number next to the year as does the rest of the formats I have sold. http://movieposters.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=665&Lot_No=28950 Grey From: MoPo List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dave Rosen Sent: Saturday, December 19, 2009 4:41 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MOPO] Need help: Ghost Ship NSS # Hi, all: I have a Ghost Ship 1-sheet and am trying to make sense of the NSS number. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about: The film is listed as having been released in 1943 (there is also a 1943 copyright notation on the poster) but the NSS # on my 1-sheet is 49/398. I seem to recall this being discussed on one of the forums a couple of years back but can't remember what the final explanation was. It's not a re-release. Was the film held back for six years by RKO?
