I was looking at a leading quality dealer's listing on Amazon, and notice he
had a couple of negative feedbacks. As I know this person well, and is modus
operandi, I could only wonder why he had got a negative for.

Well, the buyer bought the three stills as was described and said he thought
there were more, admitted it was his fault and still left the seller a negative.

Every so often, one is reminded that the lowest common denominator can be very
low indeed.

Subject: [MOPO] eBay Feedback system - more changes to come?

I have been hearing some whispers from eBay employees that the Feedback
process might be going to change again in the not too distant future.
Apparently, the powers that be acknowledge that the current system has many
flaws, not the least of which is that sellers cannot leave negative or neutral
feedback for buyers.

The vast majority of sellers now only respond to feedback rather than leave
feedback first. Many buyers simply do not leave feedback at all unless they
have problems with the transaction. This is a real indication that the feedback
system is not working.

The Star rating system is open to all kinds of abuse.

One of the biggest problems is that sellers are vulnerable to frivolous or
ridiculous feedback and they really have very little recourse when this
happens, despite the fact that you can "request" feedback revision. One
suggestion is that buyers may be forced to communicate with the seller prior to
leaving a negative or a neutral which seems logical. However, eBay will not
want to introduce anything that adds to the workload of their staff.

I believe that eBay removed the ability for sellers to leave negative or
neutral feedback for buyers because this would "detract from the buyer
experience on eBay" and cause them to look to other sites for their purchases.
The problem with this is that some bidders are serial non payers and there is
little or no way of identifying them now to sellers.

It will be interesting to see if they actually do come up with something new.

  Regards
  John

Subject: [MOPO] Dealers, how are poster sales these days?

Michael said that MoPo was solely comprised of poster dealers, so I thought
I'd ask dealers the following:

How are your sales vs, one year ago?
How about 3 years ago or 5 years ago?
If they have changed, why do you think that is?
