when Phil noted last month that he was charged an extra $9.50 I knew
it was going to go International
sadly, at that time I told Anna it was going to kill international sales
if they don't remove the charge.. you guys will be selling alot less
to US buyers, especially at the lower end where you can't fold the
cost into the purchase price
and 453 grams.. man that's 2 posters in a flimsy package or a good
package with no posters
very sad

It is being charged by the US government to Australia Post (and now
it seems Japan and Serbia) to cover the supposed security checking
now required by the US postal service. In Australia, this is being
passed on to Australia Post customers, but not iof you have an
Australia Post account. The resason for the latter is pretty simple.
With AP charges already being through the roof, regular shippers
would simply use one of the several international couriers, all of
which provide far speedier services than AP and for not much more.
In other words, the US government is taxing other countries for
their own internal services. Pretty good trick if you can get away with it.
I wonder how the US government (and MOPO members) might respond if
other countries tried this ploy on the US?

I combine shipping too, but... From Nov.17th there is some rule that
max weight of package (from Serbia to USA) must be 453 grams. So in
case that weight will be over 453 grams then I must to send in more
than one package.
I saw that Post offices from Japan and Australia have same rule for
weight of package to USA.

I purchased some stills from a seller over a week or so with the
intent of getting them all sent in the same package and combining
shipping. They now tell me that they won't combine items that are
sold on different days. So, today, I have had to made two separate
payments with two separate shipping costs for 3 stills that could
easily have been sent in one package. This seems to me to be
incredibly inflexible but I wondered if any of you have had similar
experiences. A great many of my customers take a couple of weeks or
more to pay so they can pick up more items and save on postage and I
dont have any problems with that.
