Jerry published one of the very first E.C. comic book fanzines, "Squa Tront" (whenever astronauts would encounter two hideous aliens in an E.C. story one would be saying "Squa Tront" and the other would be saying "Spa Fon"). I got to know Jerry at the late 1960s comic book cons, and when I co-ran the 1972 EC Comics convention, Jerry was there, and helped anyway he could.
Some years back Jerry ended up marrying Sotheby's head of collectible, Dana Hawkes, and he had a best friend Roger Hill. At one point in the early 1970s he co-owned a comic book store in Boston called The Million Year Picnic. Jerry was a real sweetheart, one of those really nice people collectibles could use a lot more of, and he will be missed.
