But not for the faint-hearted. KILLER JOE, the new William Friedkin movie is
one of the blackest black comedies you will ever see. But
don't expect to guffaw at well-placed one-liners. Rather, expect to be so
appalled that you can't help but laugh. I don't shock too easily and I'm not
amused by gratuitous gore a la Robert Rodriguez, Tarantino etc. This trumps
that bigtime and this movie isn't rated NC-17 for nuthin'.
So don't take your kids. Anyone who drags their kids to this should have their
kids removed to protective custody.
All the cast are excellent, but these performances will never be nominated for
no Oscar -- I don't think!!
