Interesting stuff about old theatres, especially Filip's link to the theatre
run for years by the 90-yr.-old lady. Fascinating! This reminded me that in
New Orleans, we have a similar gentleman, Mr. Rene Brunet, who ran downtown
theatres here for years and has had the Prytania (Kirby knows it! ) which he
has owned for many, many of those years.
Mr. Brunet co-authored a fascinating book about New Orleans' neighborhood movie
theatres which I obtained this past Christmas. It can be ordered on the
Prytania's website which is an interesting spot itself.
Take a look and you'll hear something that American moviegoers haven't heard
for years!!!
