I'm really sad to see this!! Griffiffths is one of the finest actors I've ever seen walk a stage. You could not catch him "acting." Here's my comment on a couple of sites today: "Richard Griffifth's performance as the Psychiatrist treating Daniel Radcliffe's tormented teen in "Equus" on Broadway was stunning! It's no wonder that Dan Radcliffe insisted that Griffifths repeat their London stage triumph in New York. Their character dialogue exchanges were totally believable. However, I must admit that seeing "Harry Potter" and his "Uncle" smoking cigarettes (!) was far more "shocking" than Dan's nude turn. LOL! RIP, Richard Griffifths! I will be sorry not to catch your droll turns (such as that in "Hugo") again." Daniel Radcliffe has issued several statements alluding to Griffiffths' mentoring during "Potter" and "Equus," correctly praising him and thanking him for helping Dan to become the outstanding young professional "star" of today!! And, if none of you have ever seen the droll tv series, "Pie in the Sky," starring Richard G. as a policeman/restauranter/chef. It's delightful!! Joe B -- still in NOLA
