I've never seen much in the way of articles on billboard posters, but I posted this to my Facebook page last week. An NSS ad showing several 24 sheets inc the 1952 King Kong.

Hallo MOPO

I was wondering if anyone had ever produced a book of 24-sheet art? The amazing large format paper on Universal horror is pretty well-documented (especially considering its non-existence) but I've come across some insanely brilliant 24-sh designs recently on non-horror titles including The 3rd Man and In A Lonely Place.

The 3rd Man 24-sh is particularly interesting, as I assumed that Welles-in-the-doorway became iconic after the film was released, but clearly the ad men recognised a coup de cinema from the get-go.

Are there any books that (if not entirely given over to the subject) prominently feature 24-sheet posters? Maybe some of Bruce's books?

And has anyone ever seen either of these amazing posters in the flesh?

Thanks
Neil
