I remmeber the day Morrie came to my shop I was cleaning a 16mm film otside in the back of building... he was like a kid with passion of a new collector,, I was so honored he would consider my small shop for material as I heardof his super collection.. each year he would send me a comp catalog of the cinevent auction and yet I never bought anything,, but i loved to just look at the catalogs and see the eye candy.. thanks Morrie... now to think it will be sold is a great think,,, as Joe Maddelena has sold some big collections Like Debbie Reynolds.. and to think it was the 60s and 70s when Hollywood started to sell off studios and props etc.. I am glad people are saving it for future generations.. I was lucky to see some liek the eastman House in the basement where its stored adn I know the collections are all over like the sollessor collection and more,,its kinda like raders of the lost ark scene where this stuff ends up... but better then a landfill,,I think the corbis collection is in salt mines.. as are many film vaults and video tape vaults,, such a young industry barely over 100 years old.was really a treat to have seen even what I did.. cant imagine Morries treasures.. Hope it gets a good home he did a great job as a steward IMHO

I wish you the very best of luck Morrie in finding the buyer (whether
an individual or an institution). One could not match that collection
at any price without spending many years assembling a similar one!

P.S. You should tell them they misspelled Bette Davis as "Betty
Davis".

To read some really good articles about the sale of my complete
collection, google "sale of Morris Everett Jr. Collection".
Apparently I am not able to post either a link or a photo on MOPO so
you will have to find it yourself. Profiles in History will sell it
as one lot in Mid December in California. There are 195,00 posters
and lobby cards covering 44,000 titles 1908-2014. Nothing is
available for sale on an individual basis in advance.
