cinevent I almost went but that weekend i had just finished a few
hectice dasys wuith the us paten and trademark office..on ever 10thear i
have to pay fees for they call maintenance fees!! you have to show youve
been using themark in ads and business etc.. andi have had small sales
every year and filed taxes but by the time i pay my expences its been
hard to really survive.. but ive kept the same phone 40 years and same
everyhing and as anyone know we all have rough times including the movie
biz itself..so welcome to Toms world..:)) i alwaty say its a bless ing
as good thing i seel old stuff.. but I noticed in 17 years since my
divorce many ofthe trends have changed no one asks me fortheda Bara
andymore and few even ask for bogie or cagney.. the kids of tady see
scarface as Pacino not Muni or the 30s gangsters ..so much has
changed....i always say to collectors dot buy becaue ofinvestment buy
because you love it incase you get stuck with i..andive thought well if
no body buys my stuff I lke itanways ill just maybe do show and tell and
retirie homes as im sure i could help alzheimers patiend get
memorys..whei wa in a nureing home 30 days and they test
forcognicemtbehavior...guess what theyasked me...?? movie questions andi
said who the hell would know theseanswers but me... then it dawned on me
they had made the questions specific to my knowledge... like what female
actrs s was in GWTW... lets see...:) it was a gereat journey andi still

your dad history in lengere and more.. so i have a good memory.. i

in a dino head from the 1990s and they can be cheap i jus sent samples
to a company that expressed interest.. they are motion activated and
give three large roars,could be forany thing likea lion bear whatever if

old stuff online ..i even gota email from Ireland whenthese things
show up all he timein other countrys. So im am very proud and
thankful people liekd mystuff..
In addition we made 1000s of Clapboards for universal studos /MGM .
MGM disney, and numerous studios all over the world..we also made a
clapbord clock for MIckey and of BUGS BUNNY for WB,,,beside that we
make megaphones which where bootlegged by the chinese as well as the
clock and clapboard..i consider that a honor as they dont copy you
if your items are no good.. so people collelct my stuff believe it
or not as the history behind this little company is long.
the short story is i started in 1977 as i was a musician and while n
a trip ona trip to los Angeles to try to land a record deal...(
sheler records owned by leon Russell was interested in signing me
and had my demos on the credenza I was also accepted by BMI to do
the songwriters showcase at the improve but i didnt have my band so
i chickend out,, I was like 19-20 give me a beak)) Mel Blanc took me
to lunch and gave me the words of wisdom he said youll find a niche
maybe you wont do music, but youll find a niche Mel was a musician
at 1st in case you didnt know so he saw a young mel in me.. we met
when he did a lectue in Toledo and he also took me and his student
union woman to dinner where he invited me when in La to lunch..
so that was nov 1976 wheni came back to Toledo i started a booking
agency repping local and national talents.. i decorated my office in
Hollywood decor memorabilia..one day a friend in the antique biz cam
it and said Tom you love all this Hollywood I bet you could sell
this stuf and gave me like 10 1920s
PHOTOPLay Movie magazine.Well so i took out ads in all the film
collectors papers around then and added posters and anything related
to Hollywood lke books magzine, postcards etc..I found vinatage
stuff all over and networked with dealer all over the world..
soon i was educated by countless authors of books who woud contact
me for reference liekjame parish, herb Bridges, and David Q,
Bowers.. who I supplied the magazine from the teens he made his book
Nicelodeons and thie music from and then bought them ack from him
along with his remainders from the 1986 Book.. still have copies
fold greatest book ever on early theaters!!
so wheni named the business..itwas because i would rent this film
which i have on my facebook page -called holywood rge Dream Factory
from 1972 itwas a docmentry about he faous MGM aution of 1970 hosted
by Dick cahhet,,and i would watch it over and over and over as it wa
so cool yet sad to see hollywood dimantled...well thats whni
discovered Debbie teynold save so much from that aution and learned
so much had been destroyed orsold so cheap as no one cared back
then..she did and i became friend swithTodd fisher her son who like
me loves the technology of old hollywood..im a freak about old
cameras and the techniques and he gear...anyways
soI name my busines the hollywod dream factory® andtat ws 1977..its
been a long journey and s many struggles,,as we all get//im now 60
rember i was 20 in 1976
andin 1990 we went to hollywood to present to Noel Blanc my clock i
had hoped to Give Mel...see Mel collected watches ,time clocks and
whei landed warnerbrothers i thougt Mel i found myniche!!! and i
wanted to give him the cock.. but he passsed away that month i got
the gig.so i went to beverly hils and took noel to the same place
the hambure hamlet and gave him the clock and then we did a bugs
bunny clapboard clock so 2 gigs and even a megaphone.. soIm sure Mel
was smiling down on me..
I also name my band Hollywood Dream Machine..as i like elaborate
stage stuff with props and lighting and stage effects...hence i love
special effects in films...:)
anyways thers much more and maybe ill geta book deal and tell
mystory as thewas much struggle like a divorce and ive had seveal
health issues wher i have had my last rights read..so i was so happy
to make it 40 years and wll go il am caled by God to stop.. my eyes
had surgery so thats been tough and my foot was reconstructed in2013
and is fused so i just stsred to reall walk recntly.. man its tough
recovery and adapting to a disability..plus i nevercould spell well

whats cool is much of my inventory Ive had sinec the 70s and 80s and
was old them so i go back to 40s and 550son some stuffand teens on
some magazines and books...i have all kind of things.. the way i
work is if i have something ill try to find it or keep yourwants and
let you know...i love to make bulk lot deals... and i havemany
reprints that where made in 80s and 90s..
My retail shop opened in Oct 81 and so i have all that same type
stuff also...as like many of you i personally saved many
things,,also many old customers contact me with stuff for sale or
they croak or whatever..so its all just on loan and gets passed
around...i feel very thankful i was able to be a steward and maybe i
can do a little more before i leave this pop stsnd.. thanks for you

happy is my best reward in doing this.. and I love the history of
the motion picture industry..thats the only reason..i love old movie
projectors and have them for sale if you need one..and ill conider
trades on stuff or even buying stuff but have so much i need to get
rid of it to make room
mywebpage has not been revamped since 2000 wheni gotdivorced so 17
years have passed....andi almost died in 2012 so is been a while ive
sold to people all hese years but small amounstwhat i coud do...i
dont want to mch biz as im older and slower..but i lke the fun part
of friendships and making others have fun..so if thats your things
you found the right place..
I am low tech.i stilluse a flip phone-dont text-have a floppy disc
drive mavica camera.. and pack like im from the old days with paper
and tape and boxes.. and even my old imac is old...so dont expect
hight tech here..i still use paperclips and rubberbands and make
notes on paper.
so you really will be on the backroads here,and i dont have lists
but do have the cool stuff and great prices typically can be 1/2 of
what anyone offers at so lets make a deal..and if you buy a lot its
as good as wholesale.. Ill be posting on my pages and and on ebay so
