hey Kids...
Years ago i knew a man named Jack baker he was known onstageas
DR,SILKINI and did the asylum of Horror..many of my person friends
worked for jack he started inthe like30s and was one ofthemst popular
around the usa...
The drummeri played with In the Hurricanes mom was a showgirl, and 2 of
my friends built stahe illusions, and one did advertising as many
magicians got thier break from Jack,,one friend played Frankenstein..and
later was Adam wests bodygaurd,,and also ran haunted houses...
I had to laugh as most my friends have been show biz people gangsters,
artist, musicians, and promoters, strippers,drag queens,
photographers,circus people,Carneys,Gypsys, flea marketers. comic and
movie dealers..auctioneers, bookingagents,,and media press..I even
promted a few Gospel concerts i kid you not!!
Antwat Jack was thekingofold school ballyhoo and promotion..fany one was
pt Barnum it was Jack they had all kinds of promtions like lady onIce,,a
snake pitand other stuff where they would do car dealerships and he made
a bundle...ironically in late years he lived in the same apts as my
mom...and so when i foundhisold Brocre in my papers,,i jus reprinted it
to stuff with my orders...for monster
mags....CHECK OUT MY EBAY AD for thesepristine shape mags from the
auction of warren i gotinlike1984 and have eeninstorage since..they make
me get goosebumps to even lookat them..the same smell they had in the
60si remember well...that and a pop and some gum cards was a kids joy
and a monster model aurora kit,,with the testors paints and toulo
glue..and watching the black and white old films onthe Bill kennddy show
from Detroit was the life when i was a kid about 64-65 hope you will
bid..we had no phone,internet,digital or much but we had
imagination,films and monster models and famous
monsters mags and we still had hours of fun....
Just look how balance me and Gre Douglass turned out even after all that
:) and even Jim Gresham,,we are just fine..no problems...:)
