I am with Ira here. Wow. Was I surprised when the I showed up 10 minutes late for the auction to find that the 15 or so items that I was watching were closed!

On the good side, it saved me a bunch of time (and money).

This is only the weeklies at this time. I’m sorry if an inconvenience to you but at this time I believe an advantage to many who do not wish to wait hours to bid live on an item or items.

Thanks Grey for the answer. My .02. What this prevents is casual bidding. Where in the past, I would be watching the auction around a item I was bidding on, and many times than not, I would end up bidding on another item. This new process requires that I bid on everything I may even have the slightest bit of interest in. Then click around and keep checking etc... Try doing that on your phone when you are away from a computer...

Is there a reason Heritage switched to this? Are they doing it for all their auctions?

Ira

Actually, it does not end at once, Ira.
The bidding extends on each item for a full ten minutes.
Assuredly that would allow you to bid further if outbid on lots of interest.

Is it just me or do other people hate the new Heritage auction system where EVERYTHING ends at once. It’s horrible.

Maybe someone can explain to me why this is better and if the whole thing is automated anyway, what’s the difference for Heritage?
