Fedex has the same situation but their tube charge is $13.00. However, you can negotiate with your Fedex rep if you have an account to get a 50% discount on that overcharge. Because I ship large frames, I get hit with a $15 charge on my oversize box for on sheets. I have to sign a yearly contract for both that charge and the tube charge to get it at 50% off, still a lot of extra money. I have even used Fedex's triangular tubes and been charged a tube charge. Their explanation for a tube charge is that it can roll off the conveyor belt and requires additional handling......yea right!!
