how does everyone feel the movie poster collecting has changed inthe
last few years say last ten
are dealers transparent and honest or deceptive
do they describe the good well and pack well when shipping??
what era of posters seems to be doing the best,,pre 30s
pre 60s
pre 70s
pre 80s
are there any newer titles in Demand after late 90s???
wended there of movie poster painters actually stop and the photoshop
start with digital??
when was the size of 27 x 41 officially changed to 27 x40???
when did Flat paper stock stopped being used and coated enamel stock
become the norm??
has anyone ever seen the stone matrix slabs used to make stone lithos???
if so where andI was told the Bavarian rock used was ground down and
reused so the stone litho was lost or thrown away,,,
I only knew of one printer that did circus poster in Cinci...\
whata lost art...
the Poster company in Vegas that started up toehold process used metal
plates not stone matrix...
so now im am stoled most printers are plateklless ands digital printing
so that evens reprints a good image unlike Lithos that need the printing
dots to make image and can be seen with a printer Loupe whata crazy
business that changed so much in last 40 years,,
comics were printed on Tabloid newsprint stock but advanced to Glossy
enamel coated
and what happened to the varied sizes?? 3 sheat 6 sheets, billboards 40x
60s 30 x 40s
Lobby Cards??? Insert??
even stills have become a bit of a hard to find as press kits seem to be
now digital
we were so lucky to experience the early promotional materials of the
studio system
