Could it be that for biological static patterns, survival is one of the main
points of evolution, but for other static levels survival is not as
important? For instance, perhaps on the social level, a 'good' society may
not persist, but it is still of a higher quality than a "bad" one. Static
intellectual patterns evolve to produce both atomic energy and atomic bombs,
one of which may destroy the other altogether. Is survival of the utmost
importance for the evolution of static intellectual patterns? Is it the
quality the intellect produces? Or could it be the expansion of the ability
of the intellect to perceive reality?
