Hello again MOQ Focus,
I have been thinking on how to articulate, how my theory of a visualization
of the VALUE OF OPPOSITION (L5) will also have a constraint facet for
intellect as it builds its structure.
First let me start with some narrative that hopefully shows my vision of
reality and of the beginnings of L5.
The creative forces of Quality are in an ongoing progression of contrary
complementary opposition. And are in truth, the causes of its life & the
sources of all activity. When these opposites combine there is life within
their battle. This is what I have called, "The creative flow of intelligent
opposition that contains all of our apparent contradictions". Can you see the
destructive and the creative forces that exist inside of these basics; heat &
cold, attraction & repulsion, life & death, male and female? It is these
forces of creative opposition that drive volcanic activity, high winds,
chemical reaction, fertilization, and life that remains in an ongoing
progression and the source of all activity. In an attempt to control these
forces men separate contraries into categories and then into rule that fits
their understanding (SOM). We so desire to control for the sake of comfort
that we fail to see the value in the opposition of our own nature and of our
fellow men. So we chain certain Energies in order to think that we are strong
with Reason.
Example:
One portion of being, is the Prolific, the other, the Devouring. The first
is the fruitful producer and the second is the careless receiver.
The careless receiver feels that the producer in a slave to his productions
and wrongly thinks himself to be the free superior. But the producer performs
his productions as a sense of duty to the whole and also wrongly thinks
himself to be the more free and superior to the receiver in the view that he
fills the needs of one lower than himself. But the Prolific would cease to be
Prolific unless the Devourer as a sea received the excess of his delights. In
other words, one has to give in order for the other to receive and one must
receive in order for the other to give. Each performs their drama in
accordance to their views and understanding.
These two classes of men are always upon earth, & they should be enemies
(opposed). For the drama of life is hinged with opposition & whoever tries to
reconcile them seeks to destroy existence. If one side of our creative
opposing forces dissolved the other itself would cease to exist. Without
contraries there is no progression!
"SOM-Intellect is a one-sided view of separation."
For all of our scientific knowledge, record keeping, hierarchical systems and
so-called expansive knowledge has not opened the window of our perceptions as
it should invite us to do, but rather we seem to use it to categorize
everything including our experiences thus diminishing and obstructing our
view of the infinite Truth.
SOM claims to be an impartial pursuit of the Truth, based on deductive logic.
By I say that despite its separations and so-called objectivity, It still has
a one-sided view of reality, which is plainly based on its deductive
separations but singular Truth.
(SOM is partial to comfort, a left-over instinct of a biology survival tactic)
Pirsig's Quality reality is a value-based Truth, which is the seed crystal
for an evolution into an L5 view.
My theory of the first baby step into a L5 reality is a recognition (vision)
of the VALUE OF OPPOSITION. This will be a subtle change at first but will
gradually grow to become a radical shift in our perception. (Especially in
our current views of Truth and Freedom)
Although it will be build on the shoulders of SOM-Intellect itself. I believe
that it will be a constraint on Intellect by the fact that It will see
opposition as a friend rather than foe, although it will still oppose. It
will not be blind to the separations by seeking an "End" as SOM does. It will
keep Intellect "in check" and make experience into excellence by its vision
of the VALUE OF OPPOSITION. And this L5 will indeed seem irrational to
Intellect because it will "act" one way but "feel" another and this will be
all in accordance to its view of purpose, which Intellect will not grasp at
all. Because Intellect will see only contradiction, but L5 will see "The
creative flow of intelligent Opposition that contains all of our apparent
contradictions"
