I have used a G3 iBook running Virtual PC and it worked just fine,
though much more slowly than native code or code on a native system
since the virtual machine has to emulate the complete Pentium
architecture. But, the G4s may be so fast it will be of little
difference. It was fine for class demos. It handled small data sets
acceptably well, but randomization tests and large data sets were
noticeably slower. Another alternative, though, is just to find an "old"
PC or laptop just for tps.

Currently, I run the tps on MSWindows in a VMWare (with heavy edu
discount) virtual machine on a Pentium with SUSE linux, and it is
wonderful. No need on those systems to emulate the processor, just
convert and pass the correct commands. I think you can even use Wine and
dispense with the MS OS, but you won't be able to access the help
system, but that a valuable feature of the tps series.

Best of luck with whatever you choose, and if you go the G4 route,
please report your success or failure to help others.
