Dear Andrea,

I have used a Microscribe 3DX with a Macintosh computer. Using the
software developer kit (SDK) that Immersion Corporation distributes for
free, I wrote a program that allows 3-D coordinates to be saved in a
ASCII (text) file in response to pressing on the foot pedals.
Unfortunately, at the moment, the program only runs under Mac OS 9
(Classic) and on computers with the old Apple serial ports. I haven't
had a chance yet to update the program to work with Max OS X and USB
ports. If you have a computer with the old ports that is setup to run
Classic applications, I would be happy to send you the program.
