Since the archives of these discussions are available on the web page, would not the proper citation technique be to reference the web address of the archives? That way, persons that wanted to check the reference might also be able to explore its context within the discussion thread. The concept of "personal communication" should be limited to just that -- a personal communcation. An email, letter, phone call or other types of conversation that other researchers would probably not be able to accesses. Thomas M.
