The problem is that what you are trying to do is not the purpose of the tpsSmall program. The purpose is just to see whether shape variation is small enough so that the approximation of shape space by the tangent space is good enough. It is not designed to perform comparisons - although it can output a matrix of Procrustes distances between all pairs of specimens. Perhaps the tpsSplin program might be closer to what you need? However, it does not do any statistical comparisons.

Hello all,
I?m pretty new at morphometrics and I?m looking for some help with a
problem I have. I am attempting to compare an individual to a group of
individuals. I am using tpssmall to accomplish this. However I?m a bit
stuck. I have a file with 4 individuals in it, I have heard that the
tpssmall report should output values for the entire group followed by
each individual compared to the group. However I only get one output
when I run this. What should the output look like, if I have 4
individuals in the file should I have 5 sets of output? If anyone has
any suggestions that would be great!! I?m really stuck!

Thanks
Megan
