This was what I did: 1. digitized semilandmarks thru tpsDig and compiled into one tps file 2. open tpsUtil to "create sliders file". In input file window, I typed the compiled tps file I created earlier. In the output window, I typed a file name for my nts file to be created 3. clicked on set-up, then create 4. upload both my tps file and nts file in tpsRelw which returns the error "bad format" Upon inspection of my nts file, its empty. How do I go about it?
Dear Khaty, you could try to write the sliders file by hand using a text editor (if you're using Windows, Notepad will suffice). The sliders file is a simple NTS file. The first line declares, as in any NTS file, the type of the matrix (in your case a rectangular matrix, 1), the number of rows and columns and if there is missing data (0 if there is no missing data) For example, the first line might read 1 12 3 0 which means 12 rows (semilandmarks) The following lines are made by three numbers. The middle one is the semilandmark of choice, the first and the last represent the other points relative to which the semilandmark should slide For instance, if in the second line of a sliders file you write 2 3 4 it means that semilandmark 3 should be slid using (semi)landmarks 2 and 4 to compute the direction along which to slide the semilandmark. I hope I'm being clear enough. I think there's some sort of explanation on this either in the tpsRelW or in the tpsUtil help files but I cannot check right now. Feel free to write me in private if you need some example file...
