Dear Friends and Collaegues

I am trying to reproduce the pooled regression results of MorphoJ in another program, but have been unsuccessful so far. I suspect this is because I do not truly understand how MorphoJ does the calculations for pooling the groups. So, I would appreciate your help very much. I am trying to regress the Procrustes coordinates onto Log Centroid Size and am mostly interested in the regression residuals. The first thing I tried was the following. I subtracted the mean value for each Procrustes coordinate for each group separately and then let SPSS and Past perform a regression analysis on these. Afterwards I added the mean value for each Procrustes coordinate in each group back to the regression residuals. SPSS and Past gave exactly the same result, but both are slightly different from the regression residuals given by MorphoJ. I have also tried to do a MANCOVA in SPSS on the Procrustes coordinates, but the resulting regression residuals were more different from those produced by MorphoJ than when using the method described above. I would very much appreciate it if somebody could explain to me what I should do to replicate the results of MorphoJ doing a pooled regression, or point me to another program that is capable to doing a pooled regression analysis.
Thanking you in advance.

Best wishes,

Anneke van Heteren
