It was very disturbing to find three answers to a question I had not yet
forwarded to the list. I double checked my list server and moderation
was still intact, and it took a few minutes for me to realize what was
going on...

By multi-posting, I mean sending the same message to multiple lists at
the same time.
The original of this went to morphmet and the PAST mailing list. Hence,
replies on the PAST list also came the morphmet list. I can see where
this could become confusing for the subscribers as members of another
list might use terminology or references that would be completely opaque
to members of this one...not to mention temporarily confusing an easily
confused moderator. List members should generally expect they are
replying to the list-specific community.
