Procrustes coordinates and things derived from them (PC, CV, or PLS scores, etc.) are coordinates in the tangent space to shape space. They are in dimensionless units (you obtain them from landmark coordinates, divided by centroid size during the scaling step of the Procrustes fit -- both of those are in the same units as the coordinates, so the result of the division is dimensionless). Normally, you will not transform these back into the originakl units of measurement (for the Procrustes coordinates, you might do that to put the scale back in, in special circumstances). I hope this clarifies things. Best wishes, Chris On 1/11/2012 5:55 PM, morphmet wrote:

I'm trying to work with my 3D coordinates in another software different from MorphoJ, and for that I need to transform my coordinates that present a format like this : X Y Z 474,1876 509,8325 9,6074 into values whose units are millimeters. I don't know if it is a very simple thing, but I have never done. If someone can help me I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance Regards Débora ([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>)
