Subject: MorphoJ update
To: [email protected]
Dear morphometricians
A while ago, I have uploaded a new release of MorphoJ, version 1.05b, to
the web site:
http://www.flywings.org.uk/MorphoJ_page.htm
There are some major changes in how I go about programming and in the
internal workings of this version. Above all, I now use version 6 of
Java to write MorphoJ, and users therefore need to have a Jave Runtime
Environment of version 6 as well. This should not be a problem for
Windows and Unix/Linux users, who can just download a new version from
http://java.com for free. Mac OS X users may need to update their Jave
Runtime Environment (probably a good idea anyway, given recent security
concerns). This change will enable me, in future versions, to add some
new features that will make MorphoJ more convenient to use.
There is a bug fix in the method Modularity: Evaluate Hypothesis: the
previous versions included an error in the computations of the RV
coefficients for landmark configurations with object symmetry. Thanks to
Emma Sherratt for pointing out the problem.
Best wishes,
Chris
