Hi Viviana
Thank you for
your answer, I am biginner in morphometry, I need to explain why there is
differences in shape between skulls of différent populations of a rodent
species. So I have shosen to chek whether environmental factors have such
impact. So I want a help on any method can allow me this explication.

Dear
Hanen,
You can just install the new version, without
uninstalling the old one. It will be like an
update.
About PLS, it depends on your question. Are
you asking on how to do a PLS with MorphoJ or the theory of it? In the first
case, you should read the manual that comes in the software (in "Help"). In the
second case, you might want to make more clear the aim of your study.
The relationship between shape and other factors can be
assessed through several methods. PLS is one of them, and its aim is to study
the covariation between the shape and the factor(s) without making one of them
the independent variable explaining the other, but actually treating them as
equals. Other options such as regression (of shape against continuous
variables), MANOVA, CVA or DA can be used when the enviromental factor is
represented as a grouping factor of the sample.
Hope this
helps,
Viviana
