To: [email protected] Dear List members: Having windows 7, I just found out hat morphologika 2.5. obviously does no longer run under this system (I always get an error message when I try to load a data file). On the morphologika web page it is recommended to shift to the new software EVAN that replaces morphologika 2.5. Hence, there arise a couple of questions from this: (1) Does anybody know how to still run morphologika 2.5. under windows 7 or is this actually impossible?; (2) I had big troubles to install EVAN on my PC. Having downloaded and extracted the freely available zip files there was no obvious setup file, from which the software could be installed. Obviously, one also needs to have R installed to get EVAN run, but how can I run EVAN from R (unfortunately, I have no experience with R)?; (3) Is it absolutely necessary to become an EVAN society member to get access to a running software of the EVAN toolkit? And would this be a recommendable alternative toward the procedure described above in my point (2)? Thanks to anybody who can help. I'll collect your answers and post a message summarizing the answers I received to the server.
