I don't know of any current morphometrics-specific software that
directly supports DICOM. You might check out:

http://www.idoimaging.com/index.shtml

I got the link from the Stony Brook site.

Otherwise, I use the data path as needed: OsiriX
(http://www.osirix-viewer.com/, OS X-specific, DICOM surface extractor)
-> Meshlab (http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/, x-platform, Ply-Obj-etc
format convertor, 3D point digitizer) -> jEdit (http://www.jedit.org/,
x-platform text editor with block-mode for data massaging) -> Morpheus
(old, new, m-vis as needed) -> R (stats and calculations unsupported in
Morpheus).

More direct support for .ply and .obj is currently under development,
but I have lost interest in DICOM manipulation as Osirix and Meshlab are
quite good for getting to point coordinates and surface meshes.

I used to use the commercial program Amira (now Avizo and there are
medical-specific version).

Someone more familiar with the software can chime in on the capabilities
of the EVAN toolkit. I know it supports surface, but not sure about DICOM.
