Bill's comments are terrific, I'm going to try Seg3D myself. He's spot-on about MeshLab, quirky but when it works it works well and gives you plenty of control over your mesh.
You may also want to check 3dSlicer (http://www.slicer.org/), another open-source CT/MRI program, and TINA was mentioned in this forum not too long ago.
One thing to remember about using CTs, processing takes lots of horsepower. Make sure you have a graphics card that will handle the rendering and CPU for number crunching.
