Subject: seeking Pan and Gorilla pedal bones images
To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>
I am starting a project testing the degree of resolution that 3D entheses
morphometrics can provide to differentiate between various taxonomic levels in
Pan and Gorilla;
My first task has been to collect 3D images of a reasonable number of specimens
from each ssp (access to scans and/or bones from collections); unfortunately
Australian collections consist mainly of wet specimens, and while the ANU have
a 3 D ScanStudio, we only have one (lonely) mountain gorilla calcaneus; I
contacted a number of institutions, including the Smithsonian, seeking access
to scans and/or bones from collections but without success so far. Any
suggestions?
