Recently I was asked what schools are doing to assess the strengths of their middle and high school readers. Also, how does a district assess the value of any reading program which is in place at the middle school level? It seems people are comfortable with assessing elementary readers, but are struggling with assessing older readers. This is driven by the scramble to be in compliance with RTI requirements.
