I am in the same boat. I have been using the materials from the
Comprehension Toolkit for several years in fourth grade and this year
third grade started using the exact same materials. I don't have a
problem with reteaching the exact same strategies because they will
inevitably dig deeper into them from year to year. My problem is that now
I have to go and locate new material next year because I don't want the
kids using the same things to practice their strategies with each year.
Our literacy facilitator finally stepped in right before Christmas and
told them to find different material because most of what is in the
Toolkit is too difficult for the third graders. She also ordered fourth
grade a subscription to National Geographic for Kids so I can use them
next year. Is anyone else running into this problem or is it just me
being too territorial?
