Sally, I don't know of any research, but have you tried e-mailing any of the other experts in this field directly? I attended a workshop with Dr. Stephen Krashen, and he forwarded me a couple of research articles supporting the teacher reading during SSR the very day I asked him for it. Maybe he would know of something. He is such a strong advocate for SSR, classroom libraries, whole lang, etc., so maybe...just a thought. This is his e-mail address:
