As part of our school improvement plan this year, we have engaged two
groups of parents in a book study of 7 Keys to Comprehension. It has
been a very productive exercise. The parents who are participating came
in with a desire to learn more so that they can help their children
become more strategic readers, and the result has been that the parents
themselves have been fascinated with their own learning about themselves
as readers.

After reading "7 Keys to Comprehension" I had tried to get others
involved
in starting a parent training class. 7 Keys is an excellent place to
start
since it is written for teachers and parents. It is directed towards
young
children but addresses parents involvement.
