Kendra, Do a google for "investigation of reading first" and you will get many, many hits of news articles. This investigation is going on right now (hearings were held on Friday and were broadcast on c-span) so it's very current. The main 'gist' of the investigation is that many of the people in charge of approving the Reading First grants were the same people who wrote, created, or were otherwise involved with programs that school districts were 'pushed' toward. In many cases, school districts' grant applications were denied until they included some of these programs. DIBELS is one such component.
