Lori, I think I understand what you are saying. Despite the directions which would have you discontinue the assessment because his WPM suffered, you continued because the pauses and verbalizations that slowed him down showed you that he was using good strategies to understand the difficult text. You took this into account, and gave him credit for doing this. Am I correct?
