I have been teaching my students using Reading Workshop and Literature Circles 
for some time now. I use STW, I Read but I Don't Get It, and Frank Sarafini's 
books on Comprehension Strategies. I work really hard in building a community 
of trusting and sharing readers in my classroom. This year, our grade level 
team did a book study on Test Talk in the Reading Workshop. I found it was an 
excellent tool for incorporating the test taking skills into the reading 
workshop. I don't use it until January after my reading workshop has been 
established, and my students are reading, thinking cognitively about their 
reading, and bouncing conversation with their authentic literature. When test 
time is near, I go back and show them using the mini-lessons in this book how 
the test author's ask questions and how that applies to what they are already 
doing as readers. We had a phenomenal year with our test results. 43 out of 44 
of my morning and afternoon 5th graders
 passed, half were commended, and only 1 failed (special ed student who only 
missed it by 1). I hear many of you talking about the Toolkit. Is it very user 
friendly?
