Perhaps we can get started with the Foreword, where Debbie Miller explains that the book, *To Understand*, invites us to ask what comprehension strategies are for. What is the benefit to readers who learn and use comprehension strategies? So much of what we do in our fast-paced lifestyles can be achieved with a quick read. Comments?
