Get a copy of* Strategies That Work* Teaching Comprehension to Enhance Understanding: Stephanie Harvey, Anne Goudvis: It is a wonderful resource for teaching strategies, and will provide you with sample lesson plans and lists of exceptional picture books for teaching the strategies. I used it more than any other resource when I started teaching, and continue to do so. There is also a second addition--I am partial to the first one, but I do use the second one too. Carol M
