As the original poster of this thread I thought I'd respond and update on what is going on. It was never my intention that this be on a different message board or group, my thought was that as part of this Mosaic group we could have an ongoing weekly conversation that would be devoted to a new strategy each week. Although I have been aware of the strategies for quite some time, I am now more interested in becoming more informed in using the strategies effectively in my 4th grade classroom because our new Literacy Coordinator is asking all teachers in our district to use them. Because I am now accountable it has spurred me to improve my game so to speak. Knowing that there are a vast number of resources on this list, it was my thought that we could share these ideas and resources through this type of ongoing discussion.
Many of you have expressed interest in sharing ideas in this manner and it looks like this is something we will be able to do. At this time we are working on setting up protocols and specific information on how to share materials so that it doesn't burden the technology side of the list. Stay tuned for more information - as soon as everything is worked out, we will let you know.
